Waddesdon Manor Wedding Photography
The Waddesdon Manor Estate have recommended me as one of their preferred wedding photographers for the past 16 years. You can choose from three options for your wedding: The Five Arrows, The Dairy or at Waddesdon Manor itself. Each one offers something unique and truly magical.
History of Waddesdon Manor
Waddesdon Manor’s vast estate sits in the stunningly beautiful Buckinghamshire countryside. Many regard it as one of Britain’s finest stately homes. If you’re looking for the ultimate wow factor, wedding venues do not get much better or grander than Waddesdon Manor. Combined with their renowned hospitality and exquisite food and wine, you really can’t better this most enchanting setting.
Baron Ferdinand de Rothschild built Waddesdon Manor in the later part of the 19th Century, to house his incredible collection of art.
Ferdinand chose the style of a Renaissance French Chateau from the Loire Valley. So, he engaged the highly respected architect Gabriel-Hippolyte Destailleur. The land purchase, design, build, labour and furnishing costs totalled in the region of £2 million. In fact, hundreds of stone masons, artisans, landscape gardeners and builders worked on the estate during its construction.
Visitors to Ferdinand’s new weekend retreat included Queen Victoria, politicians and literary figures; he was renowned for his most exceptional banquets and parties. The Rothschilds had built a number of grand properties in the local area, and as a result the Vale of Aylesbury was known to many as Rothschildshire.
