Taplow House Hotel Wedding Photography
History of Taplow House Hotel
The original house was built in 1568. Then sadly, in 1660 a devastating fire destroyed much of the building. Finally, upon its strong foundations, the Georgian property that we see today was completed in 1751.
Home to aristocracy for most of its life, Taplow House was converted from being a private residence into a stunning hotel in 1958. Taplow House is family owned, and is one of four hotels owned by the family.
More recently Taplow House has become a stylish 4 star luxury spa hotel. It sits in 6 acres of landscaped Buckinghamshire grounds. They are also renowned for their exquisite food, and the superb level of service.
There is also a very famous American Tulip Tree (Liriodendron tulipifera) located the garden of the Taplow House Hotel. It is regarded as the best Tulip Tree in all of England for its combination of height, girth and absolute beauty. This magnificent tree was reputedly planted by Queen Elizabeth I.
Photographing weddings at Taplow House Hotel
Taplow House Hotel has recommended me for most of my 20 year career. In fact, I must have photographed about 200 weddings at the hotel to date!
The hotel has been like a second home to me. In fact, a few years ago I attended six weddings over two weekends at the hotel and the staff joked that I should have just taken a room and stayed there!
In every direction this fabulous Georgian hotel has the absolute wow factor! Indoors there’s high ceilings, floor to ceiling feature windows, grand fireplaces, huge chandeliers and the most stunningly elegant rooms.
I love working in the gardens of Taplow House Hotel, especially when my backdrop is the stunning house itself! Also, upstairs there’s the most beautiful hidden feature arched window that I like using. It is the most perfect backdrop for capturing a silhouette shot of the newlyweds, or occasionally I’ll photograph the bridesmaids sat together in the window.
