Kings Chapel Amersham Wedding Photography
The Kings Chapel – A historic coaching inn in old Amersham
I have photographed a number of weddings at The Kings Chapel in old Amersham.
The original coaching Inn dates from the 1400’s, and the low ceilings, open fires, wooden beams & highly polished crooked floors reflect its history. The lovely walled garden is perfect for summer weddings and wonderful wedding picture opportunities. The chapel’s original pulpit provides a historic backdrop, whilst the domed cupola ceiling fills the building with fabulous natural daylight.
As a result, this listed building oozes with period charm. However the unfussy interiors still provide the opportunity for you to place your unique stamp on your special day.
Amersham was a popular horse and carriage first coach stop for travellers coming out London. In fact, the town was very important for providing overnight accommodation and meals. The resulting numerous coaching inns are mostly still restaurants and hotels to this day. The old town is full of period charm, and independent boutiques, cafes and shops now line the high street in the original historic buildings, mostly dating from the 15th and 16th Centuries. The grand 17th Century market hall housed the town’s jail, which you can still see.
Photographing weddings at the Kings Chapel Amersham
The Kings Chapel and the old Amersham high street are fabulous for wedding photography. I love the view across the rickety rooftops of the old town, and the rolling hills beyond as you stand outside the chapel. You’ll see this view in many of my photographs on my Kings Chapel wedding gallery.
If you’d like to discuss your Kings Chapel wedding photography requirements, I’d love to hear from you.
