Farnham Castle Wedding Photography
A Brief History of The Castle
A grandson of William the Conqueror built Farnham Castle in 1138. From the times of the Norman Conquest until the Tudors, the all-powerful Bishops of Winchester shaped English politics from within these walls. For over 900 years the Bishop’s Palace has played host to meetings and celebrations. Whilst monarchs including King John and Queen Victoria have stayed at or visited the castle during this time.
Photograph Opportunities
I’ve only photographed one wedding at Farnham Castle in Surrey. And I would love to return one day to this opulent and truly majestic castle. I was blown away by this dream wedding venue – the backdrops couldn’t have been any better!
I certainly can’t remember the last time I was so spoilt for choice as to which backdrops to use. Come rain or shine Farnham Castle has fantastic photography backdrops: from gatehouses, to turrets, to huge stained glass windows, to fabulous grounds with far reaching views!
In every direction this stunning property will take your breath away, the grandeur of the property is just off the scale! I’ve photographed over 1,200 weddings in my career, so as you can appreciate I’ve visited my fair share of gorgeous wedding venues. But without doubt I’d place Farnham Castle on my all time top ten wedding venues list!
In my gallery you’ll notice some dramatic night-time floodlit shots, I bring my lighting setup to every wedding. These surreal shots provide the most wonderful finale to your special day. Click on this video link to see lots more before and after examples of my night-time photography.
