Getting Married at the Bay Tree Hotel

I’ve photographed four weddings at The Bay tree Hotel in the beautiful Cotswold town of Burford.  I can’t wait to return in the not too distant future.

The Bay Tree Hotel combines both old world historic character and chic boutique style. Inside there’s a labyrinth of corridors, cosy rooms and open fires to discover. The interiors feature warm colours and striking large artworks on the walls.  As well, the bright restaurant extension overlooks the charming and well planted walled garden. Then, the flower borders burst with colour in this pretty Cotswold garden, a gorgeous area for your drinks reception and wedding photographs.

The wisteria-clad property sits just off the high street in Burford, with antique stores and enticing independent shops just a two minute walk away. Your wedding guests staying overnight at the hotel will no doubt be tempted by the many charming shops on their doorstep, as well as the beautiful walks through the Cotswold countryside.

Photographing Weddings at The Bay Tree Hotel

The light for wedding photography inside the Bay Tree Hotel is beautiful! The sun streams through the stone mullioned windows and overhanging wisteria. As a Characterful rooms and old oak panels look wonderful illuminated like this. As a result, I’ve captured some dramatic wedding portraits with these backdrops.

I also love to use the local warm Cotswold stone walls, intertwined with ivy, climbing flowers and wisteria, as a backdrop.

There’s a magic and charm that’s difficult to match with a small intimate wedding venue like the Bay Tree Hotel. As a result,  I can see why this hotel has been so popular for many years.
