Instagram-Friendly Wedding Venue – Kings Chapel Amersham
Angela & Andrew’s spring wedding took place at the converted 18th Century Kings Chapel in Old Amersham High Street, and I thoroughly enjoyed taking the photographs. If you also love historic properties with insanely high ceilings, and huge feature windows, this venue could appeal to you too!
This tucked away hidden gem was recently revealed as the most hash-tagged wedding venue in the UK on Instagram. And for those of you lucky enough to visit this charming property, you quickly understand why it’s so popular!
On The Day
Angela looked stunning in her bridal gown, and I captured Andrew’s emotional reaction when he caught a first glimpse of her entering the former chapel.
Their civil ceremony was emotional and beautiful, and there were plenty of tears from their immediate family. It’s always wonderful when the newlyweds take a few moments to turn around and look at their congregation during the ceremony. Many happy smiling faces reminded them of the love of their family and friends!
The non-stop partying kicked off once the formalities of the ceremony were over – and the mixture of champagne and laughter made for the most incredible buzzy atmosphere. This fun loving and lively crowd had all the ingredients for some truly fantastic picture opportunities.
Natural Photographs
Angela and Andrew indicated that documenting the natural moments of the day was very important to them. Luckily, they provided me with plenty of magical moments.
Kings Chapel’s lovely surroundings are perfect for wedding photographs. So, after the ceremony I captured some fabulous confetti images followed by family group poses and portraits of the newlyweds.
Couples regularly ask me to photograph wedding rings, and for this I often use the bride’s bouquet. The simplicity of the rings together with the natural beauty of delicate rose petals in the bouquet make for a stunning detail shot.
My Favourite Wedding Photographs At Kings Chapel Amersham
I captured my favourite images from the day outside the chapel. I just love using the surroundings of all the adjacent historic properties as backdrops.
Venturing anywhere within the vicinity of the Kings Chapel is like stepping back in time. In fact the old town of Amersham consists of so many beautifully preserved historic buildings. As a wedding photographer, backdrops don’t get much better!
I was thrilled that Angela & Andrew asked me to photograph their wonderful wedding day at Kings Chapel. I wish you an amazing married life together!
Kind Words
Andrew and I spent considerable time selecting a wedding photographer. We have been absolutely thrilled with the exceptionally high quality of photos that Mark has captured of our wedding day.
Mark struck perfectly the delicate balance between ensuring he captured all our wish list photos, whilst maintaining the jovial mood of the occasion. Our large group photo demonstrates so clearly his ability to direct guests without losing the atmosphere. As well, his eye for detail ensured that every singleperson faced the camera, clearly visible in the photos.
At all stages of the process, we found Mark to be highly professional, an excellent communicator and above all, an outstanding photographer. We now face the unenviable task of selecting our images for the album – all 600 plus images are stunning and an instant reminder of the wondrous day we all had.
We cannot recommend Mark highly enough. Angela & Andrew
