Cliveden House – A Stunning Venue For A Summer Wedding!
Jacquie and Kevin’s Cliveden House wedding was held on a gorgeous summer’s day. The English weather really came up trumps for their celebrations. As always, the numerous local red kites provided a dramatic aerial display in the skies above during the drinks reception.
Cliveden’s first floor terrace provides a perfect viewing area to witness this spectacle; the elevated location is ideal for their showboating as the thermals rise over the hilltop hotel.
Both the ceremony and the wedding breakfast took place in the famous French Dining Room. William Astor bought the entire interiors on a trip to Paris in 1897. The opulently gilded walls and painted panels came from the Chateau d’Asnieres. And, he couldn’t believe his luck when he discovered that the room exactly matched the dimensions for Cliveden’s dining room!
Famous People Who Have Stayed At Cliveden
Over the years many famous people have stayed at Cliveden both as guests or more recently as hotel visitors with their meals served in the French Dining Room. These include Lloyd George, Winston Churchill, George Bernard Shaw, Ghandi, Charlie Chaplin and Henry Ford.
It’s quite surreal knowing that any of us can experience the same hospitality and splendor when we step through these famous doors, and I’m confident that most people will feel like they are stepping into another world!
And, of course, Meghan Markle and her mother stayed at Cliveden House before her wedding to Prince Harry in 2018.
Champagne & Laughter On The Terrace
Jacquie and Kevin’s relaxed wedding gathering provided so many impromptu picture opportunities with a mix of champagne and laughter – just the way I prefer it for my candid images.
The drinks reception terrace offers total privacy; it was the perfect spot for Jacquie and Kevin to spend some quality relaxing time with their family and friends. There was plenty of laughter and merriment, ideal for the reportage style of images the newlyweds had requested.
I adored Jacquie and Kevin’s colourful flower displays and their divine wedding cake. I can only imagine how much effort and thought went into these wonderful creations.
Every minute of this wonderful wedding was very special, and Cliveden House provided the perfect backdrop of luxury and style.
