PORTRAIT FAQs

How do we book a portrait sitting?

You can either email or ring me to arrange a suitable date. Gift vouchers can also be purchased via my Paypal link above.

What's included in the portrait session?

My two portrait session options:

1.... The most popular option is my one hour session with your favourite ten high resolution images supplied on a CD, you now order the prints and enlargements yourselves with either your chosen printing lab, or my recommended lab (see below). Portraits are taken either in the lakeside gardens at my Chesham manor house studio, or at a destination of your choice within 25 miles of Chesham, Bucks. Include as many family members as you like within the session, with unlimited poses, 80+ images will be taken. Fee £250 (with additional high resolution images available for £10 each).

2...Alternatively, you can select the option where you go for a two hour session with your favourite 40 high resolution images supplied on a CD, a luxurious bespoke 16 page glossy coffee table album will also be supplied with your chosen 40 images.  Portraits are taken either in the lakeside gardens at my Chesham manor house studio, or at a destination of your choice within 25 miles of Chesham, Bucks. Include as many family members as you like within the session, with unlimited poses, 160+ images will be taken. Fee £995 (with additional high resolution images available for £10 each).

How do I order prints, enlargements, canvas wraps or framed pictures?

After your session I will also supply details of the online pro lab I recommend, typically they charge 20p per 6"x 8" or 35p per 8"x10" or £1.50 per 12"x16" print.  Their website is easy to use, all orders are placed online with next day delivery for standard prints, canvas wraps and framed pictures take about one week.

What should we wear for the portrait session?

I usually recommend you avoid heavily patterned or very dark clothing. Strong patterns clash with our bright colourful backdrops and dark colours can make portraits look too flat.

When do you take your portraits?

Anytime that suits you! Most people prefer weekends, Sundays are always my most popular portrait days. (Saturdays are my busiest time due to wedding bookings).

What are the ideal conditions for your outdoor portraits?

Perfect conditions for my outdoor would be blue skys or light overcast; any other conditions we would offer to re-schedule.

What happens if the forecast is rain for the session?

As standard, we contact you the day before the session to either confirm or reschedule. If the forecast is not good, we’ll offer you another date in our diary.

When is the best time of year to have our portraits taken by you?

I capture portraits all year round, though the most popular times are spring, summer and autumn for the stunning colours.

What is the maximum number of people that can attend a session?

There is no limit; my biggest family group to date is 80 people!

Can we bring our dog?

You are welcome to include your dog in the pictures. I can even take a few individual portraits of your pet.

How soon can we see the photographs?

The pictures will be ready to view online within ten days of your session.

How long do you keep our photographs on file?

All portraits are kept on file for 2 years, though I ask all of my customers to back up their portrait images as soon as they receive them.

Can I buy a portrait session gift voucher to give as a present?

The most popular voucher I offer includes the session fee and a high resolution CD of ten images, each personalised voucher is beautifully presented in a handmade wallet with my brochure and vouchers are valid for two years. You're welcome to buy this £250 voucher either over the phone, or via the Paypal link on my menu bar above.
